2. Atlantis Shooting Range

Atlantis Shooting Range is one of the popular shooting ranges in Cape Town

It’s an amazing place to put your skills to the test. The marshalls are always helpful and ready with advice when needed. The range caters to all sorts from high-powered rifles to small caliber pistols.

3. Founders Range

Founders Range with a length of 370m, offers 54 under-roof concrete benches. The range can accommodate handguns, shotguns, and rifles. This range is under the control of MSA Range Officers

The Founders Range is open on SATURDAY mornings from 08:00 until about 14:00.

The Founders Range is also open on WEDNESDAYS from 08:30 to 13:00, by appointment. You will need to confirm with Kurt, the Wednesday Range Responsible person, as to whether the range will indeed be open. Contact him on cell no. 082 823 6544.

Founders Range Location and Directions

Founders range is located about 24km from Table View and Blaauwbergstrand. The range is situated next to the South African Defence Force range located about 10km from Atlantis. From Cape Town take the R27 (Marine Drive) north until the R307 which is about 5km from the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station (Atlantis turn off).
Turn right onto the R307 and proceed for about 2km. You will see a sign on the left side of the road indicating a turning to the right. Turn right onto the road to the SANDF shooting range. The Military Range is at the end of this short road. Drive past the Military Club House where the tarred road becomes a gravel road. Continue for about 500m until you reach a gate on your left side. Turn left through the gate and you will see the Founders range on your right. You will need to report to the Range Manager or one of the duty Range Officers and sign in, after which you will receive your shooting sticker before being allowed to shoot.

4. False Bay Sports Shooting Club

The Range is set in the historic Glencairn Quarry which has long since reverted back to nature, presenting beautiful, sheer cliff faces of over 200 meters in height, looking out to a seascape that encompasses the entire False Bay which is arguably the most idyllic and picturesque setting and largest back-stop any shooting range could hope for! The Quarry was opened in 1898 (possibly earlier) adjacent to Main Road and the railway line.

5. Kraaifontein Sport Shooting Club

Founded in 1979, the Kraaifontein Shooting Club was primarily a handgun shooting club with the majority of its members being IPSC shooters.

Today the club has more than 450 members of various shooting disciplines, such as IPSC (Practical shooting), IDPA (Defensive shooting), Air gun shooting, hunting rifle shooting, Bench rest shooting as well and Black Powder shooting. Although the ranges are designed for practical shooting, we do have a 100 m rifle range with benches for sight-in hunting rifles. We also have a clubhouse with a kiosk, DSTV, and facilities.

Kraaifontein Shooting Club is currently one of the leading shooting ranges in South Africa and is the heart of the Boland Practical Shooting Association. We were also one of the first clubs to start hosting IPSC 3-Gun competitions, consisting of handgun-, shotgun- and rifle practical shooting.

6. CPPC Shooting Range

The Cape Practical Pistol Club is one of the oldest marksman clubs in Cape Town. It’s a very convenient shooting range due to its closeness to the city and it has a great outdoor range and beautiful surroundings. 7. Shukokai Sport Shooting Range

Shukokai Sport Shooting Club was started in 1988 and it’s among the oldest shooting ranges in Cape Town

8. Atlantic Airgun Club

Atlantic Airgun Club is a Cape Town-based Air Rifle sport shooting club. Its base is Marksman Shooting Range in Wetton. 9. False Bay Firearm Training Academy

The Firearm Training Academy is located at the end of Tercentenary Way, Glencairn, at one of Cape Town’s most popular shooting ranges, the False Bay Sport Shooting Club (FBSSC).

Although the Academy works closely with the Club to provide shooting experiences to all members of the public, ultimately, the Club and Academy are two separate entities.

10. Bellville Pistol Club

Bellville Pistol Club offers a family-friendly environment for men, ladies, and children who are eager to enjoy and develop their shooting skills on club, provincial, national, and international levels.

16. Marksman’s Nest Firearms Training Centre & Shooting Range

An outdoor shooting range in a secluded valley on a private farm 3km out of Malmesbury (70km from Cape Town), The Marksman’s Nest Firearms Training Centre & Shooting Range is managed by Geoffrey Coetzee, a former Mechanised Infantry Officer and Company Commander with 1 South African Infantry Battalion.

19. Western Province Precision Sport Shooting Federation

The WCSU is a shooting facility open to all clubs, shooting sports, and individuals. Facilities include handgun ranges, rifle ranges up to 500m, and various special-purpose ranges to accommodate a wide range of shooting disciplines. The WCSU has many affiliated clubs namely MSA (Milnerton Shooting Ass), WPMSSA (WP Metallic Silhouette), WP Pins, KaapJag, and Swiss Rifle Club. The affiliated clubs run their shoots independently during the course of the month. All persons are welcome to use our facilities as a visitor just wanting to plink or you can become more involved and take part in the various disciplines on offer.
